Artists Statement

Weeks works with live art, video, installation and writing to offer a performative socio political critique focused on making that which is marginalised apparent.

Through subverting the mechanisms of meaning and redirecting the langauge and signifiers of power or knowledge garnered from diverse sources ranging from instruction manuals to arcane occult manuscripts she creates new subjectivites across a spectrum of issues and narratives ranging from the sacred to the profane. In Seeking to interrogate the status quo her approach involves the re - representation of the prosaic, re -remeberings of lost knowledge, the offering of other potentialities or realities, and the assumption of various roles such as tour guide, priestess, curator, critic, entertainer and academic.
